Misc Board
Googling for Bessiebenny brings up a link saying last post 7hr ago - but trying that link says that it doesn't exist. It's not in general flashlight discussion this time either. Oddly enough several of the older parts of it still exist.
Back now, but I'm sure the post count was 430-odd when it vanished - -now 411
They've moved it again! It is in General Flashlight Discussion again - till some other mod moves it back again. Why do they play these stupid games?
I get the impression that CPF would like to be rid of this thread entirely and could “accidentally” mislay it permanently, at some point.
CPF seems a little biased, in my opinion (an example of British understatement at its best).
Fortunately, we have a fall back position................. or two.
Please check out my Notice Board... http://www.jayki.com/notice_board/7553#0
Also, DM51 (mod) has moved it back into the LED Flashlights forum instead of General Flashlights. =)
I don't like how they group every single budget related light posts all into my thread.
But at least the mods do not mine me mentioning this jayki.com website.
I have asked for the mods at CPF for a possibility to create a sub-forum within LED Flashlights forum for the budget lights.
This would be a huge improvement over discussing 1000s of flashlights in a single thread. =P
If all else fails, there's always this website where everything goes. =)
They have a subforum for exploding batteries; you would think they could create one for budget lights. And it seems like it would make things easier for the moderators too.
Problem is they hate budget [ Chinese ] lights ...
I tried to start a show you fire light picture thread and was promptly slapped for it , and was accused of advertising cheap lights and told that such was unwanted on CPF .
So I'm not so sure about a sub forum ... Id say the odds are so high , Id put a dollar on it , just to win a million .
haha. yeah. Some lights are ONLY available at DX and some only available at KD. But it's still called advertising. Feel free to post links to where you can buy whatever light you like at this site. Heck, if it's a good deal on flashlights, ads are fine also. =P
Jayki, it seems you opened your website just in time. Maybe CPF got jealous of your site and felt you were drawing visitors away from their site? Which you do! ;-) Please make frequent backups ;-)
I mentioned my site to a moderator on CPF via PM, and he politely responded that they had decided for the time being to try out a budget forum on CPF. Sounds like they are really trying to avoid people using their forums for advertising, and if they get too many shameless promoters in there they won't keep it for long.
You have to be able to some how show the product / manufacturer ...
I have never seen a problem with Surefire , or people linking to Surefire's , as an example .
++++ The Slagging has started !!! People pushing more expensive lights and rubbishing the cheap lights ..
I dont think its going to last , if people are going to sabotage threads about economy illumination , its just going to be a flame war .
If the moderators are serious about anything at all , they will do to the flamers what they did to me , just remove the flaming posts ..
But from what ive seen so far , they just might close the threads instead , which quite frankly = sabotage !
Due to this latest escapade, I wouldn't bother posting on CPF. I'll read the posts that can be read, when not logged in , and make benefit of them. Otherwise, I have no interest in that place.
If you have anything to contribute, do it here or at http://budgetlightforum.cz.cc/
There are alternatives to censorship and enforced doctrine.
Sorry CPF, you've become a corporate dinosaur, rather than a place to talk about torches.

Ahh - on checking the CPF portal page which I normally avoid like the plague, all becomes clear. Here's what it says, "While performing some maintenance, BessieBenny's budget light thread was somehow misplaced. We are trying to correct the error and will hopefully have it available again soon.
Thank you for your patience."
That will be right!
