Lets start with the description from DX The UI is wrong , its Hi - Med - lo - Strobe - SOS , and this light will not perform on a primary , with a fresh over 3v Primary I got 0.12A current draw and 40Lux in light box 1 . As for the digitally regulated current output at 1A , Im not even so sure about that [ Later ] .
This is my 3rd A20 , the first one was stolen , so there definitely a choice light for those with light fingers . And I must say that the light was good to start with , with some minor irritations that were fixed , and the second light was better , but this 3rd one is outstanding , and has this light been available for some 6 or more months now ?

The Light
I was very impressed with what I got , and am very pleased , and possibly some what lucky . The build quality has been improved since the last one I got , which was an improvement over the 1st one . The tail clicky is very positive and mechanical , and there is no mushiness to speak of , in fact , its just about perfect , as far as a tail clicky can be . The threads were nicely machined and Lubed , I was a little surprised by that as the previous ones had no lube [ Came from KD ] . The overall finish is nice and even , and I just love the knurling , its aggressive without being abrasive , hard to do I would say . I am very pleased with the overall quality - fit and finish and just cant find anything to complain about , Ok , fully regulated 1000mA , well , I dont think so [ But thats DX ] . My guess would be its direct drive on High , and that is by no means a deal breaker , not for me . Beam quality is very good , not very ringy at all , and a nice hot spot . I also like the body , not a lightweight body like most 1x16340 lights , this one has some beef to it , and can handle the heat much better . There are 0 rings where there supposed to be [ Lens + body join ] , and the one for the body join is a nice interference fit , not lose and not overly tight .
My final words on this light = Its my 3rd one , it has to be good if I took 3 bites of the same apple , the person who stole my first one obviously liked it enough to steal it , and I recommended this light to a fellow flashaholic , who just loves the one he got .
This light is a sleeper , and deserves more attention from flashlight buyers , unfortunately the Ultrafire name has been rubbished by a minority group to the point some may fear buying one . This may have been the case a few years ago , but all I can see from the 3 I have purchased , is a light that keeps getting better each time I buy one , and it looks very much like who ever is making this light is making an effort to improve it . I have to rate this one 10 out of 10 since I found nothing to fault .
From DX on left - The one on the right is from KD - and modified to XP-G R3

Yes , but I dont have macro , only 2 nasty old digitals , heck one is a Kodak and the other an even older Olympus , both are point and shoot .
I cant get in close enough to photograph the emitter as it wont focus , the head and tail shot picture is about as close as I can get , before the focus goes wonky on me .

Beamshot , A20 on high ,wall is about 5-6 meters from the camera .
