That 5-mode isn't programmable and people have complained of quality problems lately, but it is cheaper. DX also has a "6-mode" but they shipped a 3-mode programmable until lately when people have been getting actual 6-mode lights (sometimes). KD has the 3-mode programmable and also the AK-16 which is similar but allows you to use a CR123 battery or AA (or 16340 or 14500 li-ion).
I can't comment on the others since I don't have those, but others will probably chime in.

Build quality on the Ak-16 is very nice , if mine is anything to go bye :
The Piritlight Spear Clone , I have to have one now . Mine is terrific . Im considering another and keeping this one stock .
Solarforce L2 Cree XR-E R2 - A must have in your collection [ 12 for me ]
Ultrafire A20 , the one I got from DX is brilliant , wow , must have been a good day at the factory when they made it ...
Maratac AAA 3 mode twisty
But for a price =
Sub $10 / dx/sku.24127 Black Cat AAA single mode - tail clicky [ + A few others ]
Sub $15 / dx/sku.17925 Saik SA-8 - stick to 4.5volts or a single 18650 and this light is OK [ P60 Hosts ]
Sub $20 / One of the Ultrafire P60 Hosts
Sub $25 / ITP , Akoray
Sub $30 / Piritlight SG-L8 [ thrower ] Solarforce L2 range ..
If I was buying lights with hindsight to start a new collection and I was going to start with 5
1/ Solarforce L2M [ 18650 version ] + cr123a extension + 3 mode low voltage pill so you could run - CR123A - 18650 - 2xAA
2/ Piritlight Spear Clone
3/ Ultrafire A20
4/ Akoray AK-16
5/ Maratac AAA or AA or ITP versions
I could be happy with these 5 for a little while ....

AA/AAA //// Top 5
Solarforce L2i + Low voltage pill = 3xAAA , 18650 , 18500 , 14500 , AA , CR123A with adapter
Solarforce L2M + CR123A Extension = 2xAA / CR123A / 18650 [ Again that low voltage pill ]
Akoray Ak-16 = AA , CR123A , 14500
Maratac / AA-AAA - I own 2 of the AAA , and should have a AA soon
ITP / AA or AAA [ Same maker as Maratac + easier to buy from Ebay ]
From DX - KD
Akoray 3 mode programmable
In fact I would probably stick to Akoray , I want to try this one one day .http://cgi.ebay.com/AKOray-K-105-CREE-LED-120-Lumen-5-mode-Flashlight-Torch_W0QQitemZ250516540264QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Flashlights?hash=item3a53f30b68#ht_3206wt_939

This is a difficult one to list. So many varieties. =)
Here's some that I've reviewed. In no special order.
I've become too picky these days. So there is no perfect light still.... =P
Romisen RC-F4 GITD Cree Flashlight Gray (3V~8V)
TrustFire XP-EF23 XP-R2-WC 3-Mode 150-Lumen Memory LED Flashlight (1*AAA/1*10440)
Tank007 E07 HA-III OSRAM 120-Lumen LED Flashlight (1*AA)

If the perfect light existed it would really spoil the fun...
Jayki's list seconded and adding an Ultrafire WF-504B http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.24200 for a nice cheap R2 that throws pretty much as well as any P60 light is going to.
And (Preferably with a different dropin) a Uniquefire R5 or one of the other Seraph clones. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.32720 The body is nice, pity about the misleading description.

1. Romisen rc-n3 - feels like a tank, I wish they have replaced strobe with low mode.
2. Akoray K-109 - my favorite 16430 light, perfect for EDC, small.
3. Romisen RC-G2 - do I have to comment?
4. Akoray k-106 / Akoray Ak-16 - ak-16 is even better
5. Uniquefire R5 - love the looks, quality. Shame that description is wrong.
I would put the $14 Trustfire XP-E F23 1xAAA/10440 on the list. I've bought three of them now. 15 minutes of runtime on a 10440, but really bright and only 3 modes (bright, a nice low, and stupid strobe) with memory. It is longer than the $20 iTP A3 EOS (still a baragain), but just as bright and I like the clicky switch more than the twisty. The A3 is great to carry because of the small size and no aggressive knurling to scrape up everything else in your pocket and while it is not a DX light, it is quite nice and affordable.
I think for a P60 host, the Ultrafire 504B's are very well made. If you know you want an R5, you can get the Uniquefire L2, but if you're not sure then the 504B for $14.99 is a great bargain with a XR-E R2 drop-in.
The programmable Akoray K-106, now available only at KD, gets wide praise. Even though it is nearly $20, the fact that it has 3 programmable modes gives it the same functionality of JETBeam flashlights that cost 4 times as much.
