why are you giving them away. Hold on to them you might need them in the future

I was giving them away for a bit of fun ... 

Cutter Electronics gave me two XP-G R5's to give away ...  Damned nice of cutter ... I will pay for them tomorrow , an keep them for myself . 

Probably want to tax (or at least control) all such things - they do seem somewhat concerned about their revenues these days. Depressing. My inclination is to leave them to it.

I dont see how there would have been a downside for them ?  In any shape or form , but yes , they do seem more interested in there Revenue than actually making things ?? more interesting/fun for visitors ..

I guess they dont mind making money from people contributing to the forum , but to sty-full something that would have benefited them in the short and long run did seem some what short sighted . 

To me in anyway . 

Its there forum , and I will just have to accept that they seem to hate cheap , and especially free, it would seem .  

Went to cutter this morning and paid for the emitters since I cant even give them away ....  On CPF anyways ... 

So would anyone here object to a little fun , like a lucky dip give away ?

CPF just has some really heavy-handed moderators, that's their trademark.  Nice to see some friendly / generous people still exist in this world though.

Sounds fun - will have a rake around for something to contribute to a lucky dip. It will be something light as postage could be a killer.

Well , Id be up for giving away one of the XP-G R5 emitters on a 10mm round base .... 

I'll put in a couple of protected CR123s, or if the winner prefers, an R2 singlemode P60 dropin.

How do we organise this? Someone willing to do the picking of winners? How do we enter?

Always been a fan of Luck dip !  as for entering , just posting a reply in said thread should be enough ..

1st person drawn = first choice of whats on offer , and so forth .. 

I usually exclude myself from these proceedings .. [ no conflict of interest ] 

List the people :

1/ Joe Blow

2/ Bob Someone

3/ John Smith 

4/ Etc 

And then , draw numbers ....  [ Random Number generator or call some one on the phone and ask them to pick numbers , since they dont know whats going on , they become a random number generator ] 

Give it a week or two : And do the draw . 

And mail out the prizes :  Its not hard .

I tried to introduce the ultrafire copy of the Olight M30. Everyone told me it was advertising and shut me down.

Yeah , CPF is really anti - cheap , I dont know if there being patriotic for protecting American made lights , but a lot of those high end lights are made in china , so I would guess there just protecting there own ?? bottom line perhaps ? I just dont know . 

I went to the Ultrafire web site and saw no new light , so was wondering where you saw it ?

Works for me. I'd put it in News and call it Giveaway or something like that. I'd sign up all those indicating interest here too.
