This is the Spacial Edition L2p [ Professional ] with HA-111 finish , and a tail click'y with a recessed button so it will tail stand , and a much more conservative bezel , leaving you with a light that is the same length as a regular L2 , less the rubber boot sticking out of the L2 , so technically it would be 5mm shorter .
The knurling on the L2p is a much smaller diamond pattern then on the L2 , as well the knurling on the body and tail cap match , not so on the regular L2 . The over all machine finish on the L2p exterior is really no better than on the regular L2 , though the HA-111 finish done in a mat black is distinctive when compared to the gloss anodizing on a L2 . I cant say I like one more than the other , as both are very pleasing .
The fit between parts , has been improved , by quite a margin . Unscrewing the tail cap a few turns , and then pulling in and out shows the tolerance between the tail cap and body , and there is far less slop on the L2p than on the L2 , the same goes for the head .
There is a distinctively different feel to the L2p when directly compared to a L2 , and its the HA-111 finish , it actually feels harder to the nerves in my hand , and if anything , possibly a little mere coarse and grip'y . I cant say the tail clicky is better , certainly more audible and mechanical in the L2p , and some what heavier to push on to activate , I think this will be a very personal thing , as to whether its better or not . I like the more conservative bezel , it feels much better in the pocket , and looks much better [ to me ] than the regular bezel , and hopefully be far more user friendly in a non defensive way .
A standard L2 body can be had for all of $15USD shipped out of Hon Kong , and the L2p will set you back about $30USD or right about 100% more . So the question begs , is the L2p 100% better than the L2 that preceded it , and the answer would very much depend on how much one demands from a flashlight . For me personally I dont see it , I dont see the same value that the L2 offers , but then I dont drive a fancy car either , and by no means is the L2p prohibit-ally expensive , and for those that demand that little bit more the L2p could very well be value for money when choosing a P60 host .
Its hard to compare lights to the L2 model from Solarforce , it just offers so much for so little when compared to any other P60 host , whether on the lower or upper end of the market , and the L2p certainly raises the bar to a higher level , making it even harder not to consider owning a L2p .

Added a rubber grip ring , and put in an older 5 mode R2 Solarforce drop in .. When we have some cool weather I will build a SSC P7 drop in for it .
