I am thinking of making a flashlight with the SSC P7 C emitter working on 6 AA batteries.
I really like what he did -> http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=191836
So i prefer to copy a good host than design a new one. I am sure i will make many mistakes when designing it. Does anyone of you know where i can find analytic layouts (blueprints, diagrams ...don't know how they call them in English) of a good host?Any host will do i will make changes to it so to fit my project
I know you will not like the idea of the AA batteries but i really hate to use batteries that are not common and really hate to use batteries that are dangerous.
Any help?

Actually , the body would hold the pill/heatsink which in turn would hold the emitter and driver .
The head would cover the reflector and possibly support it . , the lens bezel would hold it in place when screwed on .
The battery carriers would make + contact with the driver + and neg would go through the tailcap / body / pill / neg part of driver .
Its how any basic LED light is made today : http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.17095
The principal is the same for all lights
You dont want to do a Mag mod ? , would be great to start with ...
You would want a SSC P7 emitter , a driver , and battery carriers ...
Deal Extreme has a single mode driver that seems to be working well for me ..
KD or DX for the emitter , carriers from KD
My own SSC P7 Mag runs 9xAA [ 3D ] and my 2D runs 6xAA but is XP-G R4 ...
Or you can half copy the mag , just machine up a tube the same size , do away with the switch , make a heatsink , attach a driver to the base AKA P60 style , and make it tail clicky , and then make the head , and use a mag reflector .
I dont think there are any blue prints , as most are custom jobs .
