Hi!
First of all let me thank you for this website.
Now for the bad news.
I just killed my UniqueFire R5 Cree XPG-1AO-R4 5-Mode (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.32720) with 2*16340 grey trustfires.
DX's www says that it can be used with this battery configuration. So I'm here to tell you that it can't. There is an error in description.
I will try to get a new one from them.
I just wanted to ask you is there a way to repair it? What emitter should I get (sku. please)? I've just checked emitter connection cables and it looks like the
driver is still ok. but LED is dead ;( (there were tiny parts of it still working - for seconds).
If I messed something with names, I'm sorry, I'm still new to CREE lights.
Thnaks.

Don't forget it's Lunar (Chinese) New Year holiday , so their answer might even take longer than normal:

Same here. Stony silence from DX since the beginning of Feb. Although they were nice enough to change the status of my order from "packaging" to "waiting for stock" to "Temporary stock shortage, contact us if necessary"

An alternative could be the SKYRAY S-R5 it has supposedly a completely different drop-in than the UniqueFire R5 5-Mode, Skyray can handle 2 * 123, Uniquefire can't , 1200 mA vs. 1000 mA, mode memory vs. no memory, smooth vs. OP.
Those might do the trick:

Or buy a complete drop-in (might be easier, cheaper and you can use your 2*16340 configuration):

Maybe DX is willing to send the drop-in as replacement for the defective light?
