I received the 1 mode TR-801 from DX. The Q5 XR-E had a decent cool white tint but the 1.5 amp current draw was excessive. The light would get quite warm in about 10 minutes.
I ordered a 2-mode Hi-Lo, 7135 driver from KD and now I have 1030mA / 100mA operation. Perfect for my needs.
I didn't like the pointed crennelation on the bezel end, so I turned this off and broke the edge. This 18650 light is only 111mm long and fits my hand / pocket nicely.
I also bought a XR-E R2 WG tint star but I don't think I received a WG tint. Maybe I'll do an XP-G if I can get an 1A or 2A tint without paying for shipping from Australia.

thanks,
I put the bezel on a home brew mandrel arrangement that would go into a drill press. Making sure that this was reasonable square and concentric, I applied a rotating cylindrical grinding stone to the rotating bezel using a hand drill. I broke the resulting sharp outer edge using a file held at 45 degrees while the bezel rotated. I could have rounded the edge but I wanted a more machined look of a flat chamfer. The bezel face was hand finished off using 300 and 600 grit paper on a flat surface.
I don't think I could have kept the face square by simply sanding without rotating the bezel - there's a lot of Al material to remove.

Is this light this model? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13095
So you sanded/grinded off the front crown bezel? Looks very nice btw. =)
