Initial Impressions
- It's very heavy! Well, that's the very first thing that came out of my mouth when I received it. =P
- Also looks very nice indeed. Looks like it's worth some dosh. Very prone to finger print marks. =)
Build Quality
- Super smooth Stainless Steel outer finish. Nice and thick walls. Fancy brass ring. Looks expensive.
- Green glow in the dark (GITD) o-rings in front of glass lense and on both head and tail switch threads.
- Green GITD tail cap. It's a reverse click and as it protrudes out, it's very easy to press using any finger.
- Deep smooth aluminium reflector. Made for the smaller Cree XP-E. Perfectly centered Cree XP-E R2 emitter.
- Has two small round-edges lanyard holes on 1 side of tail. Not the easiest to put the lanyard through.
- The threads definitely need some lubing as it is not butter smooth without it. (Mine didn't come with any)
- There is a gold-colored possibly-brass ring. It's more for looks than anything else.
- It seems you can unscrew the light-engine pill out from the inside. (like most flashlights)
Lght Output
- Has 3 modes High, Low and strobe. Not a bad combination really. Very useful.
- Due to the smooth reflector, the beam does show some rings around the hotspot although very faintly. (and doesn't look ugly at all still)
- Low mode is quite dim. This is great as it should have great runtime at such low output.
- Spill is still wide and bright. No ugly holes or anything. Clean edges.
- Tint on my sample is on the cool to neutral side. Not too warm and not blue/green either.
In Use
- As can be seen, it doesn't tail stand.
- Has 2 nice round edged lanyard hole in the tail end.
- Oh, did I say it was heavy. =P
- No knurlings on the body. So it can get quite slippery.
- It's definitely more of a "fancy" light but as it has 3 modes, it is very useful even in real life use.
- As it's fully round, it will roll off non-level tables unless you had some decent lanyard attached to it.
- Reverse clicky. Has a nice solid feel to the click. No excess travel in the clicky.
- You can change mode via gentle half-press of the clicky. Easy.
- It has memory. If you turn it off and leave it off for longer than about 3-4 seconds, it turns back on to the last used mode.
- Even if you had the light on for just 1 second, it turns back on to that mode if left off for more than about 3 seconds.
Conclusion
- I can say that thi light is actually quite nice. Definitely worth keeping and also for collection.
- I reckon it'll be great as a small gift also as it definitely looks and feels like it's worth some money.
- It's also a very capable little flashlight. Bright output even with AAA and a nice low mode also.
- For what it is and for this price, I can only give it 6 stars. Really. I guess the nice shiny look and feel won me over.
- I think I might buy this whenever I need to give someone a small gift. It has that "gift worthy" look to it. =P
[Runtime Chart]
- My AAA LSD NiMh results were bad. So here's the re-run using a cheap Alkaline battery and a "brand new" Energizer AAA NiMh on High.

- Nice smooth silver finish. Really does look and feel far more expensive than it really is. This alone makes it worth its price.

- Comparison photo with few other AA and AAA flashlights. Note that only E07 flashlight uses AA. Rest are AAA flashlights.

- You can see that F23 has a smooth reflector instead of textured one. This does produce slightly more concentrated hotspot althought more ringy.

On a 10440 it draws:
High: Starts at about 1A then settles down to around 750mA which means under half an hour on high.
Low: 100mA - Approximately 3 hours runtime.
On a 10440 the Akoray K-103 is 25-30% brighter than the Trustfire, but the Trustfire doesn't seem so easy to accidentally turn itself on in your pocket which has happened to me more than once with the Akoray which gets rather hot after a while - more than once I've wondered why there was great heat in my pocket. The Akoray never gets clipped to a trouser pocket any more.
